SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS
(for AGES 6-13)
The Carleton Place Canoe Club offers fun-filled summer camps on a weekly or full-summer basis, with discounted rates for full summer registration. Led by National Coach Certification Program-trained instructors, our camps focus on water safety, introductory canoe and kayak skills, and fostering a love for outdoor adventure. These full-day camps help kids build teamwork, develop physical literacy, and create lifelong memories on the Mississippi River. YOUTH SPRINT RACING PROGRAMS (for AGES 8-13)
The Carleton Place Canoe Club's Youth Sprint Racing Programs focus on building well-rounded athletes through foundational skill development and teamwork. Open to beginners and experienced paddlers alike, these programs are led by National Coach Certification Program-certified coaches who emphasize personal and athletic growth.
Canoe/kayak is an excellent sport for young athletes, promoting core strength, fitness, and habits that contribute to long-term success in sports. Participants gain technical skills, develop strong training practices, and enjoy a fun, supportive environment that encourages both individual and team achievements.
ADULT SPRINT & RECREATION PROGRAMS
The Carleton Place Canoe Club’s adult programs offer a perfect blend of social connection, outdoor fun, and skill development on the water. Whether you’re looking for recreational paddling or competitive opportunities, there’s something for everyone! Programs like Adult Canoe/Kayak, General Membership, Dragonboat, and Recreation & Fitness paddling promote an active and healthy lifestyle for all ages and skill levels. PADDLE-ALL (SPECIAL O) & PARA CANOE/KAYAK PROGRAMS
The Carleton Place Canoe Club’s Paddle-ALL program offers a safe and inclusive environment for individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities to enjoy paddle sports on the Mississippi River. Led by dedicated coaches, the program is tailored to suit both beginners and competitive paddlers. Participants can choose between a recreational stream for a relaxing experience or a competition stream focused on skills development and racing. The program also provides opportunities to compete in local, provincial, and national events, making it a rewarding experience for all skill levels.
DRAGON BOAT PROGRAMS
The Carleton Place Canoe Club’s Dragon Boat program welcomes participants of all ages to enjoy the Mississippi River, learn new skills, and embrace the outdoors. Whether you’re new to Dragon Boating or an experienced paddler, this program offers a chance to get active, connect with others, and challenge yourself in a supportive team environment. No specific fitness level is required—just bring a positive attitude and a willingness to grow. Our teams work together to achieve individual and collective goals, with the aim of competing in the CPDB Festival in September. The CPCC also offers evening dragon boat rentals for teams looking to train.
U16+ SPRINT HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAMS
The Carleton Place Canoe Club’s U16+ Sprint High Performance programs are designed to prepare athletes for long-term success in sport at provincial, national, and international levels. With a strong history of excellence, CPCC has produced numerous Provincial and National Team members who have competed in events like the Canada Games, World Championships, and the Olympic Games. Focusing on both individual and team boat performance, these programs are led by experienced, certified coaches dedicated to helping athletes achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
