CPCC Winter Training Program

The Canoe Club has designed a winter paddling program to meet the needs of those wishing to begin training for 2012 and/or wish to improve their technical and fitness base acquired this summer.  The program is divided into 4 groups: High Performance, Jr. High Performance, Competitive and Masters (see program description below).   The program runs from November 1st to December 31st and January 9th to April 30th (excluding March).

 


High Performance Program - The High Performance program is for our elite paddlers who train up to 10 sessions per week.  This program will run Monday – Friday 6:30 am to 8:00 am, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm and Saturday’s 9:00 am – 10:30 am.  This program is designed for those who want to compete at the National and Inter-National level in 2012.  Cost of program is $450 + $100 in raffle tickets*.

 

Jr. High Performance Program- The Jr. High Performance program is for paddlers wishing to train a maximum of 6 sessions per week.  Available sessions include: Monday – Friday 6:30 am to 8:00 am, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm and Saturday’s 9:00 am – 10:30 am.  This program is designed for those who want to compete at a Provincial and National level in 2012.  Cost of program is $350 + $100 in raffle tickets*.

 

Competitive Program- The Competitive program is for paddlers wishing to improve their technical skills during a maximum of 3 sessions per week.  Available sessions are Tuesday/Thursday from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm and Saturday’s 9:00 am – 10:30 am. Cost of program is $200 + $100 in raffle tickets*.

 

 Masters Program– The Masters program is designed for adult paddlers wishing to improve their fitness in a fun and knowledgeable environment during a maximum of 3 sessions per week.  Available sessions are Tuesday/Thursday from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm and Saturday’s 9:00 am – 10:30 am.  *Note:  a minimum number of participants are required to run the Tuesday/Thursday sessions. Cost of program is $200 + $100 in raffle tickets*.

 

There will be no programs running during holidays.

 

*In an effort to keep cost down while raising additional funds to provide our programs all participants are required to purchase $100 in raffle tickets.  The winning ticket will receive 2 Senators vs. Vancouver Canucks club level seats, Row H for Saturday, December 10th.  The hockey tickets are valued at $380.00  Each raffle ticket can be sold for $5 each.
