Summer Camp Programs

Regatta Ready

Regatta Ready is a week long day camp where campers will be introduced to canoeing, kayaking (individual and team boats) and dragon boating with a focus on progressing towards participation in a regional weekend regatta(s.) Campers who are not ready to commit to the competitive program will be encouraged to challenge their own paddling skills and abilities, but participation in regattas is not mandatory. Additional activities include basketball, beach volley ball, road hockey, badminton and swimming.

Summer Camps At a Glance:

Overview
Program runs July 3rd - August 31st, Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm.

Ages - Canoe and Kayak Kids 6-9 (as of start date)

Ages - Regatta Ready 8-12 (as of Jan 1)


Swimmer Ability

Swimmers must have foundational swimming abilities including understanding of Personal Floatation Device (i.e. life jacket) and ability to perform a 10 meters swim. Refer to link below for additional information (Red Cross Swim Level 2):

Safety

The safety and well-being of your child is our number one priority. As such:

  • It is important that your child bring sunscreen. They will be encouraged to apply throughout the day.
  • Your child is required to wear a lifejacket at all times when on the dock, in the water, and in any boat.


What to Bring

  • Sunscreen
  • Bathing suit, towel and plastic bag for wet items
  • Hat and sunscreen
  • Water bottle (can be refilled)
  • Lunch with drink (sports drinks or ice tea recommended)
  • Snacks
  • Closable lunch kits (to prevent any seagulls from stealing it)
  • Running shoes (sandals can be worn, but not recommended for outdoor activities)

Keep your kids active and healthy while introducing them to the sport of sprint canoe and kayak. Campers will enjoy a variety of activities and games both on and off the water focusing on cooperation and teamwork, fun competition, physical well-being and water safety.

Campers will benefit from hands-on instruction from experienced and certified coaches and accomplished paddlers.

Canoe and kayak Kids full summer U11

Canoe Kids Full Summer is a non-competitive full summer program for participants between the ages of 6 and 11 (must be under 11 as of January 1st). Participants will be introduced to canoeing, kayaking, and dragon boating at their foundations and progress through the fundamentals and foundations stage of the LTAD plan. The focuses of this program will be on cooperation, teamwork, fundamental paddling skills, boat and water safety, and fun paddling activities. Additional activities include field sports, swimming, movie days, as well as cooperative games and activities.
